Bee Thai, located off South French Broad Ave in Asheville, is a casual counter service restaurant offering traditional and fusion Thai cuisine. Founded in 2024, the restaurant pays homage to its predecessor, Little Bee Thai, which grew to be a local staple over the past 16 years. Chef Thanaphon Theerarat (nicknamed “Natt”) presents his menu of signature recipes of scratch-made dishes and beverages, with a wide array of dishes for lunch and dinner.

In rebranding, I sought to clarify its relationship with previous ownership while also establishing a new and revitalized presence.

Through a playful and colorful illustration suite, I paid homage to the hand painted signs central to Bee Thai’s legacy. Keeping the bee as the central motif, the drawings emphasize the casual and warm atmosphere of the restaurant, as well as its fresh and local offerings.
